"Italy records the second-highest number of death of the novel virus because of several reasons. This includes: The Italians slow response to the virus - they believed the virus was a problem elsewhere made the spread faster. Italy only tested citizens showing severe symptoms of the coronavirus.

They are the second oldest population country in the world and the oldest in Europe, with about 23% of residents 65 or older. This increases the rate of mortality. The coronavirus has been said to show severe symptoms on the elderly. The overall mortality rate in Italy is as a result of their population, said Aubree Gordon, an associate professor of epidemiology at the University of Michigan. "

A lot of people may say so many things about the Coronavirus, but one thing that is for sure is that it hit Italy very hard. One of the reasons why is that Italy may not have taken the virus seriously in the beginning. It is possible that people do not actually know that they already have the virus, and this caused the virus to spread even more from one person to another. Another possible reason is that Italy is one of the countries with the most number of people who are above 65 years of age. The virus is known to hit the elderly more than those who are still considered to be young. It is possible that the death rates are high because elderly people are more susceptible to it.

Coronavirus is obviously spreading from one place to another in various parts of the world. There are about 15,362 people who have died from the infection so far in Italy. It is possible that the number of people who have died will continue to spread in the next years or so. The death and mortality rates differ probably because of the age group of people who are infected with the disease. Most people who have become infected in Italy are considered to be part of the elderly age group. For example, the average age of people in Italy who test positive for Coronavirus is 78, which is definitely older as compared to the ages of those who test positive in other countries.

The most important factor for so many deaths in Italy is because the median for coronavirus patients is 67, which is a relatively older agethan the rest of the world. According to a report from JAMA, it's clear that around 87 percentof the deaths and 40 percent of the cases in Italy are from 70 years old or above age group. Italy is on the top of the death chain right now in the world. According to Wikipedia, It all started when two Chinese tourists were tested positive for coronavirus on 31st January 2020 and rest is the history.
