No one knows for sure when the coronavirus is going to end. Experts have confirmed that we are past the point of containing the virus. This means controlling the virus will end with serious measures only. COVID-19 is going nowhere, for now, says the scientist because of the massive death and infected cases of both developed and underdeveloped countries.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom said the country should be out of this pandemic in 12 months; no one can say if this can go over in more or less than 12 months. The best way to control the panic is for countries to find an exit strategy and means for its citizens to go back to their normal life.

One of the things that people wish for is that Coronavirus will just end. There are a lot of people who are wondering if this would ever end. There is a possibility that this would end if people would follow all of the protocols that are being set by the government. For example, if people would follow the call of others to just stay at home so that the virus can eventually die, there is a possibility that people will be able to go pass this virus. Another possibility is that people will start to become immune to this virus. When these things happen, there is a big chance that the virus will be eradicated.

Most experts say we’re past the purpose of containing the virus, like we did with SARS and MERS. That means that COVID-19 is here to remain , and therefore the pandemic will end only with herd immunity.

Herd immunity describes what proportion of a population has got to be resistant to a disease for the population as an entire to be shielded from outbreaks. The exact threshold depends on the infectiousness of the disease, represented by the essential reproduction number, called R0 (pronounced “R naught”).

When a replacement virus emerges, nobody is immune. A highly transmissible virus, just like the coronavirus behind the present pandemic, can spread like wildfire, quickly burning through the dry kindling of a completely naive population. But once enough people are immune, the virus runs into walls of immunity, and therefore the pandemic peters out rather than raging ahead. Scientists call that the herd immunity threshold.
