What is the difference between Molds and Yeast?

Molds and yeast are both eukaryotes. They also belong to the Kingdom Fungus.
Molds are microorganisms that are long cells that look like threads and have a tendency to grow with the help of multiple celled filaments called hyphae. There are about 400, 000 types of mold and vary depending on sizes. Molds are used in biodegradation. Molds have sexual and asexual reproduction which is into a multicellular form. Mold is a sporing fungus.

Yeast is a microscopic microorganism that has just one cell. There are about 1500 types of yeast. The size and the cell dimension of yeast depends in the type of yeast. Yeast is not a sporing fungus. Yeast is used for so many things like baking, industrial ethanol production, flavors, food additives, and probative. Yeast multiple through budding or binary fission.

Mold is a type of fungus that will grow in multiple filaments. This means that it will be multicellular and it will also be threadlike. Yeast, on the other hand, is going to be unicellular. This will be similar to buds when they grow.
