The second-largest religion in the world is Islam, which has about 1.5 billion followers. It began in Arabia, and Prophet Muhammad was revealed to the world. Followers are Muslims and believe that there is only one God whom they call Allah.
About 80 to 90 percent of Muslims are Sunni, and 10 to 20 percent are Shia. The Shia-Sunni split in this religion because of the fight over succession after the Prophet Muhammad perished in 632. Seventy-two percent of Muslims worldwide follow the practices taught by Islam, which includes praying at least five times a day. Islam is the only religious conviction in the world with a higher rate of welcoming new converts who come from all different types of religions.

No is the correct answer to this question. Islam is not the most followed religion in the world. The religion that holds this title is Christianity. Though it is not the most followed religion in the world, Islam does hold the title of being the fastest growing religion. It may not be first, but it is closely behind Christianity.
Islam is the second most followed religion. Many experts believe that in the next few years, Islam could become number one for the most followed religion. The main reason for this is that those who follow Islam have more offspring than those in Christianity, allowing their religion to be more passed on.
Seventy-two percent of Muslims around the world follow the practices taught by Islam, which includes the ritual of praying five times a day and foregoing ham. Islam is the only religion in the world that has a higher rate of welcoming new converts who come from everywhere, from Hinduism to Christianity.
This religion is expected to become the most popular and followed religion sometime within the next 50 or so years. They are the fastest-growing spiritual group in the world, and the statistics of new followers seem to be on the rise.
Right now, Indonesia is the country that has the highest number of Muslims living. However, it is projected that by 2050 India will be taking this honor, and they will have more Muslims than Indonesia.

The correct answer to this question is no. Though Islam is not the most followed religion in the world, it does come in second place. The most followed religion happens to be Christianity. In 2019, it was estimated to be over 2.4 billion Christians in the world, which is about one-third of the population.
However, experts expect that by 2050, Islam may be able to hold the title for being the most followed religion in the world. They cite their prediction to the fact that Muslims tend to have more children than Christians, which will allow the religion to past on to future generations.

As far as I know, Islam is not the most followed religion in the world, but I will agree if the religion is included among the fast-growing religions that are practiced in the world. According to statistics, Islam is the second most followed religion in the whole world, with a population of 1.8 billion followers. With this, this is just about 24 percent of the world's total population. Islam is seriously trailing Christianity; the most followed religion in the world with about 2.4 billion followers.
Both Islam and Christianity are widespread religions with billions of followers from different parts of the world. However, there are reports that show that Islam Is the fastest growing religion, which further raises the possibility that Christianity might be displaced from its current position. Islam, as a religion, is based on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and other prophets as recorded in the Quran.
