Whenever people are asked to give the total number of the existing religions being practiced in the world, 4000+ is usually given as the answer. While this is true, at least based on the little information available on the internet, there are thousands of others that can be regarded as religious organizations, but the problem is that they are very rare.
Also, contrary to the belief that major religions like Christianity and Islam are surging in popularity because they are two oldest religions, there are other oldest religions that are not that popular; in fact, their entire population is not up to 5 million.
For instance, Jainism is one of the oldest religions founded before the tenth century. Jainism is mostly practiced in India, and it has a total population of about four million people. Jainism is known for its teachings against violence, stealing, etc. Other core parts of its beliefs are truth, non-possession, and celibacy. Other rarest religions are Wicca, Raëlism, Discordianism, etc.
