While there might be no other way to determine the largest religion in the world other than using their population, the leading religion in this regard is Christianity. According to statistics, Christianity is usually regarded as the largest religion in the world due to the fact that the religion is currently having about 2.4 billion people as its followers, and it is believed that no other religion will surpass this record for the next 50 years.

Christianity is one of the oldest religions in the world, and it is based mostly on the teachings of Jesus Christ when he came into the world as the Messiah. According to what most Christians read in the Holy Bible, it is believed that Jesus Christ was the sacrificial lamb sent to redeem people from their sinful ways. Followers of this religion believe that Man and God were not having the best of the relationship after Adam fell in the garden of Eden, and that was why Jesus Christ came to perfect the redemption process.

Although there are about 4200 religions in the whole world, the most popular one and the largest is Christianity. This religion has about 2.4 billion followers throughout the world. Although Christianity has so many branches and denominations, the three most common branches of Christianity are Catholicism, Orthodox, and Protestantism.

Christianity, as a religion, is based on the teaching of Jesus Christ. According to the followers of this religion, they believe Jesus Christ is the savior of the whole world and that he was sent to bring humankind back to God.

All the activities of Jesus Christ when he was on earth are contained in the Holy Bible. One of the core beliefs of Christianity is that God exists in trinity i.e., the father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As a result of this, Jesus Christ is usually referred to as the son of God. One of the reasons why Christianity is surging in popularity is because the followers of this religion have been instructed to spread the message of Jesus Christ to all parts of the world.
