Requesting money through Zelle is just as easy as sending money. If the person you are requesting money from has never heard of Zelle, you may introduce it to them and have them setup the program through their mobile banking app. If they do not want or are not able to download their mobile banking app, they can download the Zelle app.
Once done, they would enroll in the Zelle app. Once enrolled, the requester will open their mobile app and click Request. They would then enter the contact information for the person they are requesting through and from there, enter the amount they are requesting. The request is sent to the potential sender for them to approve and send the money.

Start by introducing Zelle to people as a safe way of sending money to people known to them. The next thing after you've introduced this platform to them is to see if those people have Zelle in the mobile app of their banks or online banking. They don't need to download any other app in the case they have Zelle already, and this would make it very easy for them.
They would have to download the Zelle app in case they don't have it on their bank's mobile app. Whether they are using the Zelle mobile app itself or they have to use Zelle through the bank's mobile app, they would have to enroll in Zelle before they can send money.
After they have enrolled, tell them to pick someone to send money to; to test the efficiency of the app, make sure the person they pick is you, and they enter the amount they want to send.
