EMT vs. Paramedic is two terms that are used to refer to individuals that are trained to provide certain medical interventions to people before they are taken to a medical facility. Both are often confused with being the same thing, but there are some differences between the two. One of the major differences between the two is that paramedics and EMT (Emergency Medical Technicians) do not use the same number of days for their training.
Emergency medical technician training is usually within six to seven days, while paramedic courses can last for 75 days. Based on the scope of their training, paramedics tend to spend a longer period when receiving their training compared to EMT. As a result of this, paramedics can give certain medical services to a victim, while EMTs are not allowed to do so.
For instance, paramedics can give an injection to people, and they can also perform intravenous insertion on patients, while EMTs are not allowed to do so.
