Hand and arm refer to a similar part of the body. However, the arm is divided into two parts: that is the forearm and the upper arm. The upper arm extends from the shoulder to the elbow, while the forearm extends from the elbow to the wrist. The upper arm is responsible predominantly for lifting weight and pulling strength, while the forearm is the part that differentiates the arm from the hand. The arm comprises three long bones, which are the radius, ulna, and humerus.
The hand, on the other hand, is the part of the body below the forearm. The bones that it comprises of make it more flexible in such that it can hold and carry various objects, and to also support other parts of the body. Basically, the hand comprises of four fingers and a thumb. It comprises of 27 different bones, which are divided into phalanges, carpals, and metacarpals.
