DSL Modem and Cable Modem are two types of modems that are used so that a device can get connected to the internet. Both differ in some ways, especially when you consider how they connect to the internet.

For instance, a cable modem makes use of cable boxes to connect to the cable service before you can start enjoying an Internet connection on your device. On the other hand, the DSL modem makes use of telephone lines to ensure that you are connected to the phone service.

Also, you won't get connected to the internet if you are using a DSL modem to achieve a cable internet connection, vice versa. In terms of speed, cable modem offers more speed compared to the DSL modem.

However, you can only enjoy its fast speed if you are not sharing the network with other people. However, the DSL modem offers a more reliable internet connection than a cable modem because you are not sharing your bandwidth with other subscribers.
