Guns and rifles are two types of firearms, but there are a lot of differences between the two. Guns are examples of breech-loading firearms that can be used for projecting hard objects known as bullets forcefully or at a very high velocity. They are used mostly to fire at a long-range object. There are a lot of guns out there, such as hunting guns, machine guns, etc. Rifles, on the other hand, are also examples of breech-loading firearms that can only be fired by placing them at the shoulder.

In other words, rifles are long single-shot firearms that come rifled barrels in order to enhance accuracy and range. However, there are some rifles that are not single-shot firearms i.e.; they can be used to fire multiple rounds. While rifles are only meant for individual use, guns are mostly used by a group of people. Firearms are mostly used by sharpshooters, while guns are used for field combat.
