Almost all of Microsoft’s Windows operating systems usually come as two different packages, retail and OEM Vista have this similarity. The main difference between the retail Vista and OEM Vista is resident in how it is being sold. The Retail version of the Vista is usually being sold in shops and stores basically as individual packages and is usually bought by people who have computers, and they wish to upgrade, it is also sold to people who would like to build their computer systems.
The OEM Vista is usually sold by Microsoft to people who produce or build branded computers and laptops. They would install the Vista on their own computer and then sell them as a package which is already working outside of the box. This helps to take away the complexities and the hassle, which comes with the installation of a new operating system. Retail Vista is costlier than OEM Vista.
