Aid and aide may sound the same, but the added letter at the end of the word will already make a difference with what they mean. When you say aid, this may be synonymous with the word “help.” For example, you may realize that there are different people from all over the world who are in need of aid because of the pandemic.

When you say “aide,” you are referring to someone who can provide the help or assistance that another person needs. There are times when an aide can refer to an assistant or a helper. These two words can also be used differently in sentences.
