It can be confusing for some people to know that all grizzly bears are brown bears but not all of the brown bears that you will see are grizzly bears. Brown bears are the bears that are normally located near the coastal areas. This will give them the ability to hunt for food such as salmon. Grizzly bears are located in a more inland location. They will be far from the coastal areas so they will not have access to certain food sources. Their geographic location is different and the fact that their food is also different means that there are going to be some differences with their appearance too.

When you look at grizzly bears and brown bears, you may think that they look similar to each other. There are some differences between the two, even if they look similar. First of all, brown bears are those that would be living near the coast. This means that if they would love to eat fish, they will have the ability to access the available fish in the area.

Grizzly bears are those who may live even further so they will not have access to some of the areas anymore where brown bears usually reside. They also do not have access to any food that is marine-related. If you would check out how they look, you may also notice some differences. For example, the size of their shoulders will definitely be different from each other. The grizzly bear will have a shoulder hump, which you may not immediately see with a brown bear.
