Some people may find it confusing to know when they are going to use “to†and “too.†You are going to use “to†when you need to use a preposition that will mean until. For some people, they use it to mean “toward.†For example, you may say that the quarantine started from May to June. The word “to†here is being used to mean “toward.†When you use “too,†this somehow means that the subject that is being described is doing a similar action or will look the same. “Too†is also known as an adverb and you will use it when you want to say “as well.†You can also use it when you want to indicate “additionally.â€
There are some people who may get confused with the proper usage of to and too. One reason is that they sound alike, and others are just confused with how they would use it because of different reasons. First of all, it is a preposition while, too, is an adverb. If you would be using too, this means that you are using it to reciprocate what has been said to you, like saying, “I miss you TOO.†On the other hand, you can also use “too†when you want to specify that something is being used excessively. You can use the preposition “to†when you would like to show direction. For example, you may say, “I am going to Canada.†To can be used as a direction showing that you are going to Canada.
