It can be confusing for some people to know the difference between opossum and possum. They are different animals. Where they live are different from each other. Opossums are found in North America while possums are known to live in Australia. Possums can also be found in other countries. They are both from the marsupial family but possums are more related to kangaroos. Opossums are known to be beneficial to your garden. They can help eat some of the slugs and snails that may ruin your plants. They can also eat some of the fallen fruits from the trees in your backyard. Possums are also known to give help to the ecosystem.

An opossum is known to be a type of marsupial. This type of marsupial can be found in different parts of America. The possum, on the other hand, is a type of marsupial that can be found in Australia. There are also other countries wherein the possum can also be found.

Some people think that these two animals are the same probably because when you say their names, they sound the same. One main difference is their relation to kangaroos. Possums are obviously more related to kangaroos.
