Beans are known to be the seeds of legumes. This is considered to be one of the plant proteins if in case you would like to get protein from plant sources. Some of the examples of beans are the following: soybeans, lentils, peas, and chickpeas. Nuts, on the other hand, are the seeds of trees. There are some people who cannot live without nuts and they would always choose nuts as snacks. Some people will not be able to consume nuts because they are very allergic. Some allergic reactions would stop people from breathing normally. Some examples of nuts are the following: pecans, walnuts, and hazelnuts.

A lot of people assume that nuts and beans are the same. They have some differences for sure. Beans are the seeds of legumes. This means that all legumes such as chickpeas, lentils, and soybeans are all going to have beans. Nuts, on the other hand, are the seeds of some types of trees. There are some trees that bear nuts, such as hazelnuts, walnuts, and pecans. The peanut is not actually a type of nut because it does not grow on trees. It is a type of legume, which is why it is cheaper compared to the other nuts that are also being sold in the market. It is far more accessible than the real nuts that grow on trees.

Nuts and beans are both popular foods that are known to be rich in protein. Foremost, nuts are considered as fruits. Nuts are referred to as one of the most famous dry fruits with a single seed in botany and few times with two seeds.

When it gets matured, the nuts become harder, and still, its seed is not attached to the ovary wall. Nuts do not open up, even after it has been completely matured. The common examples of nuts include almonds, chestnuts, walnuts, pecans, and a lot more. On the other hand, we refer to the bean as a seed. Bean is actually a term used in referring to seeds that belong to the “Fabaceae” or legume family.

Sometimes, beans are also referred to as peas. You can plant seeds of beans to obtain beans again. Generally, beans are also found to be softer than nuts when handled in their fresh state. Examples of famous beans include butter beans and black beans.

It is true nuts and beans are most times confused with being the same, most especially when you consider the various similarities between the two share. For instance, both are great sources of protein, and both are usually recommended for weight loss. However, there are still some differences between the two.

One of the major differences between the two is that nuts are usually considered as fruits, while beans are not fruits. Nuts are usually considered as dry fruits, and they usually contain one seed. Beans are not anyways fruits; they are usually considered as seeds. Beans are usually classified as legumes.

They are just the seeds of the bean plants. When you compare the softness of the two, nuts are harder than beans. In fact, one of the characteristic features of nuts is that they begin to harden as they mature. Unlike the bean seed that attaches itself to the ovary wall, the nut's seed does not.
