Steel-string guitars are under a higher amount of pressure, and the strings are more difficult to push down than the nylon strings. There is not too much difference if the guitars are adjusted appropriately for better playability. Strings are not compatible between nylon and steel string guitars.

Nylon strings are far more pleasant and soothing to the ear contrasted to steel strings. These types of strings are frequently used by flamenco and classical musicians. It is the more popular choice among students who are learning how to play guitar.

Classical guitars have wider necks, compared to steel-string guitars. This difference means that the neck profile is also typically more extensive but there might be styles that have a flattened C shape. Even though it has a wider neck, the guitar is comfortable to play.
