When it comes to controlling the moisture of your home, you must first look at damp proofing and waterproofing. Then you must learn the difference. Damp proofing is done with a tan -based mixture, created to help deter water from clinging to or penetrating the material surface.

Waterproofing is accomplished with a mix that includes rubber, preventing moisture and water from penetrating through any material. Damp proofing is useful for slowing down the rate at which moisture is absorbed. Waterproofing offers a green and environmentally friendly solution, which makes it more expensive.

Still, you may end up saving money in the long run since there could be a myriad of costly problems down the road. Waterproofing prevents groundwater from the rain and even excessive humidity from coming into the foundations of the home, which in the end, is the better buy.
