Unlike white ash, green ash can tolerate all environmental conditions. White ash depends on the full sunlight to grow. Green ash grows in maximum sunlight, as well as partial sunlight—another big difference between the two lies in their particular bark. Unlike green ash, the white ash barks do not become flaky. White ash grows taller than green ash.
White ash can grow up to an impressive 80 feet tall, while green ash can only grow to around 70 feet. White ash typically grows in moist soil, especially well-drained soils that possess neutral pH acidity. Green ash, on the other hand, grows in a plethora of different soils, such as rocky, clay and, sandy soils.
