The employee is the person who is working for a company. This is someone who would be given some specific tasks to do that he would need to complete so that he can keep on working for the company. The employer is someone who has hired the employee.

He has made an effort to check the background of the employee and the employee’s different traits so that he will know if the person will be a good fit for the company. Another difference between the two is that the employer is the one who will provide the salary of the employee while the employee will be receiving the salary based on the amount that they have decided on upon hiring.
