Anxiety is a prolonged feeling of being uncomfortable in your skin, and it is sometimes brought on for no apparent reason. For example, someone might be anxious in large crowds of people, and their anxiety kicks in when they have to be out. Anxiety is a psychological condition; however, fear is not. The symptoms we experience in our bodies due to fear and anxiety are almost precisely the same.
These symptoms include twitching or tensing up of the muscles, shortness of breath, or increased heart rate. Fear, on the other hand, is a feeling that makes someone feel anxious, but the cause is evident and known. For example, a child may be afraid of the dark, and when their Mommy or Daddy turn out the light for bed, it instills a sense of fear in the child.
