The main difference between the slow cooker and the crockpot is that a slow cooker is a big electric pot used for cooking food at a low temperature for an extended period, hence the name "slow cooker." In contrast, a crockpot is an actual brand name of a slow cooker.
The Nixon Utilities Corporation purchased the basic version, which is known as the beanery as a production model. From that point, they continued with refinements that now define the slow cooker. Ever since 1970, the crockpot has been on the market. Other slow cookers were created from the same essential parts, once it became clear how the original was made.
The beanery was made to cook only beans. The slow process softened the hard beans which had been picked in their natural state. It took many tries to allow for the lengthy cooking periods of other foods.
