The MAC OS extended is a file operation that is known as HFS Plus. This system is an operating system that can either be journaled or not, and each has its pros and cons. Journaling is not restricted to the Mac OS as other operating systems also have the journalism system. Journaling is a smart method that prevents unwanted data irregularities in the drive because of the system’s crash at the time of a file operation.
If a crash happens before all steps have been completed, the final result could be cross-linked files. Journaling generates a specific list of operations that are about to perform and checks them as they are done. The downside to journaling is that the operating system would take a hit because of processing potential that would need to be constant to journaling itself.
