Coronavirus (COVID-19) is said to be deadly and feared because there is no specific treatment for the virus yet. The number of death is increasing by the day.

However, more people recovered compared to the number of death. Many people are still ignorant of the effect of this virus because they believe that it affects just the old and those with weakening their immune system.

This virus can be easily transmitted; all it takes is for an infected person to cough or sneeze carelessly. Coronavirus is not as deadly as some other viral infection.

In fact, it will amaze you to know that about 80% of infected people fully recover from this disease. The news and media put fear in the heart of many, this makes it look like anyone infected is likely to die, and this is not the case.

For a great number of patients, Coronavirus is considered to be deadly. There was a time when people thought that this disease would die when it would be exposed to heat, but so far, the disease has shown to be strong even when it is exposed to heat. Those who are old or those who have weaker immune systems will have a harder time recovering from this condition. Some people may only exhibit some weak signs in the beginning, but as time passes by, they would realize that the symptoms are just getting worse. Those with pre-existing medical conditions should take better care of their health because they have a higher chance of becoming ill because of getting infected with this virus.

It is not yet known how deadly Cornovirus is. Experts are in the early stages of trying to figure out this information, but it is too early to know for several reasons. One reason is that there are not enough tests to see if people are sick from COVID-19 or sick from another illness. If a person dies before they get tested, the doctors may never know what the true cause of death was.

Along with that, experts do not know how long the virus has been around. Many of those deaths that were linked to the flu could have instead been COVID-19. It will take time and many studies before we know how deadly the virus is.

Coronavirus is a deadly disease, having caused the death of thousands of people around the world. About 250,000 cases of coronavirus disease have been recorded in the world, with Italy being the worst-hit country. Initially, the disease started in Wuhan, China, and about 80,000 cases of this disease have been recorded, and about 3000+ deaths have been recorded in China alone.

The severity of this disease is not the same for everybody as some people are having speedy recovery even at their various homes, while some have been spending weeks in the hospital in a bid to get themselves fully recovered from the disease.

Also, while it is taking about 14 days for most people to start showing symptoms, some are showing symptoms barely after three days of contraction. According to researches, coronavirus disease is causing the death of older people with preexisting health issues compared to the activities of the disease inside the young ones.

There are a lot of people who feel that the coronavirus is not something that people should worry about as it mostly affects those who are old or those who have compromised immune systems because of certain conditions. This is highly contagious, and this is the reason why it can spread easily from one person to another.

There are a lot of people who feel that the coronavirus is not something that people should worry
One of the main reasons why people die from it is because of severe pneumonia. Most of the patients who die from it usually expire because of this condition. A lot of people are saying that this is less deadly than SARS, which also became a concern for a lot of humans in the past.

  • Plague of Justinian, around 100 million died in Europe between 541 to 542
  • Black Death, between 50 to 200 million died of this between 1331 to 1353

The recent COVID-19 Coronavirus has me concentrating on more recent pandemics, I wondered how does this compare? I found this infographic very useful for modern pandemics, this states that the pandemics of the last century were:

  • Spanish flu – which killed 17 million around 1918 to 1920
  • Asian flu – which killed 1.1 million around 1956 to 1958
  • Hong Kong flu – this killed around 1 million between 1968 to 1969
  • HIV / AIDS – this has killed 32 million people so far
  • Swine flu – this killed around 575,000 people between 2009 to 2010

There is no enough information on how deadly the Coronavirus is. To determine how deadly disease or infection is, enough data on the confirmed cases must be reported. This viral outbreak is still in the early stages.

In the case of Coronavirus, many people with mild symptoms do not report to their doctor or health care centers. This makes it difficult to determine how deadly the virus is. However, according to Chinese statistics, about 2 percent of infected patients with Coronavirus has died. This is unlike the viral infection, Ebola, that kills about two-third of affected persons. Elderly persons and people with known health conditions are likely to suffer more severe symptoms.
