Leotards and Bathing Suits are two tight-fitting clothing materials that look very similar. At times, leotards and bathing suits are confused with being the same, but there are some differences between the two. Leotards are one-piece tight-fitting clothes that are mostly worn by athletes, dancers, acrobats, etc. Leotard, as a clothing style, was created by a French acrobat, Jules leotard.

Leotards were originally meant to be worn by males, but the reality today is that women are the ones wearing it. Bathing suits, on the other hand, are collections of clothing materials that are worn by people whenever they want to engage in water activities like water skiing, swimming, diving, etc.
Also, bathing suits are worn by contestants during beauty pageants. While leotards are one-piece clothing materials, bathing suits can come with a one-piece style or two-piece style. Leotards do not have an inner lining designed to serve the purpose of a bra, whereas this is present in most bathing suits.
