What is the difference between Magma and Lava?

Some people assume that magma and lava are the same, but they have some differences that will make you distinguish one from the other. Magma is known to be composed of molten rocks. This is usually found on the earth’s crust. Lava, on the other hand, is a type of magma that has finally reached the surface of the earth.

This explains why whenever the volcano is about to erupt or when it is showing some signs of unrest, the one that pours out from the crater of the volcano is called lava. Lava can be very hot and can be very dangerous, especially when people and properties will get exposed to it.
