A fixed mindset simply implies the belief of some sort of static traits and also that talent is key to success or achievement in life. While a growth mindset usually involves hard work, persistence, and the passion and drive for improvement and bitterness, which is attributed to success and achievement. Most times, people that have a growth mindset usually believe that one can gain intelligence over time. This prospect of the future now mainly focuses on the significance of one's effort, persistence, hard work, and resilience.

A major researcher and motivational speaker describe it as the power that yet, has so far implied that there is still something that can actually be done about the current condition of things or performance. With this kind of perspective, there is an emphasis on the learning curve that is not permanent. When someone with a growth mindset faces opposition or a challenge, he sees an opportunity, but someone with a fixed mindset sees a threat.
