USB and FireWire are two types of technologies that are used to exchange or transmit files between two devices. Both are similar in terms of the function stated above, but there are still some differences between the two. USB is the short form of Universal Serial Bus, and it was created by Apple together with other companies. FireWire, on the other hand, was created by companies like Microsoft, Intel, and others.
Both devices were created to offer a high-speed transfer of files or data from one end to another end. However, my fast comparison will be on the device at a faster speed. This actually goes to FireWire because it has a maximum speed of 400Mb/s, whereas the speed for USB is around 1.5Mb/s, which is way low compared to that of FireWire since both devices can be used to supply power to other devices like phone, FireWire supply power faster than USB.
