When a man and a woman in a relationship get married, they can be regarded as husband and wife. Husband and wife give rise to what is called a “family.” The husband can be referred to as someone who is married and has a wife or wives.
In ancient times, the husband is to protect and provide for the family. A man is allowed to marry more than one wife who depends on his culture and religion; this is called polygamy. A wife is someone married to a man who she calls her husband. In ancient times, the wife must stay at home to take of the house and children. In some cultures, a woman is allowed to marry more than one husband this is called polyandry.

A husband is a man who has been married to a woman. The wife is the woman who has been married to a man. These are the name that is used to call people who have decided to make their union legal. Some would make it legal in the eyes of the law only while there are also some who would like to make it legal to the eyes of God. The husband and wife are required to become loyal towards each other.
They are meant to become partners who will help each other in good times and in bad times. Men and women will always have differences, so there are some things that they will not understand about each other. The marriage can make their bond stronger because they would be forced to work things out and not give up just like that.

A husband is a term that is called to describe the man in a marriage after he has gotten married to a woman. The woman will be called the wife after she has gotten married to a man. These are just terms that are used to describe or categorize people after they have gotten married.
If in case they soon realize that they are not meant to be together, and they would decide to get an annulment or a divorce, they will be called ex-husband and ex-wife. Being a husband or a wife is considered to be an upgrade from being a boyfriend or a girlfriend because this means that they are now legally bound by the law and sometimes the church.
