UAV stands for Unmanned Aerial value, and RPV stands for Remotely Piloted Vehicles. UAVs are planes that do not have a cockpit and doesn’t need a pilot as an AI now flies the plane; however, the presence of a human is needed in making decisions.

RPV is a type of UAV as they have the same design and structure. RPV functions like a manned aircraft, while UAVs have limited roles. RPV is an expensive craft.

The RPV still functions like an airplane; the pilot still has a cockpit with all necessary controls. The inputs provided by the pilot are now transmitted to a military satellite, which sends it to the RPV. UAVs have limited roles since they do not have any pilot.

UAVs or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are unpiloted aircraft. Their types of aircraft do not have a cockpit meaning they are specifically designed to fly without a pilot. Although, there is still a type of UAV that does need to be controlled, most especially during certain situations when critical decisions need to be made.

This actually led to the creation of RPVs or Remotely Piloted Vehicles. RPVs also share the same features with UAVs, just that the service of a pilot will still be needed for RPVs. In a simple term, RPVs are remotely piloted vehicles meaning the pilot will not always be on board but in a very safe location.

Another difference between UAVs and RPVs is the absence of a cockpit in the former and the presence of a cockpit in the latter. Since RPVs are basically just like the common piloted planes, they can be used to perform the functions of the piloted planes, whereas the roles of UAVs are limited in this respect.

UAV and RPV are two types of vehicles. UAV stands for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Most people know this type of vehicle as a drone, which is an aircraft that navigates without a human being on the aircraft. RPV stands for Remotely Piloted Vehicle. It is also an aircraft that is robotic.

RPVs were used by the United States Department of Defense. They became popular between the years of 1970 and 1980. The purpose of this aircraft is to be used for exploring and for spotting artillery.

It differs from UAVs in the aspect that the vehicle is not totally unmanned. Instead, the RPV uses a pilot that will transfer the vehicle safely.

An Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is also commonly known as a drone, is an aircraft without a human navigator onboard. UAV's are part of an unmanned aircraft system. It is a crewed, and uncrewed aircraft of the same type generally have identifiably similar components. RPV is a term used by the United States Department of Defense during the 1970s and the 1980s. It is a robotic aircraft that was used for exploration and artillery spotting.

RPV's provide useful means in dealing with various military expeditions, thus fostering successful operations. An RPV is a type of UAV as it shares the same elemental composition and design. However, for RPV's the pilot is not entirely removed, but transferred to a safe place. UAV's possess minimal roles. They rely on a pre-programmed flight plan in favor of an AI that flies the plane.
