Macro functions expand at the time when the program is processed by the preprocessor while inline functions expand during compilation. The keywords used in Macro are #define while inline is in inline. Inline can be defined inside or outside the class, while the macro is always defined at the beginning of the program.

Macro evaluates the argument each time it is used to code while inline evaluates the argument only once. The inline short functions are defined inside the class, which is automatically made onto inline functions while the macro is defined specifically.

An inline member function can access the data member of the class while the macro cannot access the data members of the class and can never be members of the class. Debugging is easy for an incline function as error checking is done during compilation while debugging is hard for macros as error checking does not occur during compilation.

Inline and Macro are both programming functions, most especially in C++. The two functions are usually mistaken for each other in that both might look somehow related, especially when you consider the properties they hold. However, there are still some differences between the two. The inline function is used C++ programming language to create a copy of the items being compiled. Once items have been defined, the inline function will help to create a copy of the items being compiled.

The function macro, when used in C++, will make it very easy to replace text as defined in the function. Unlike the inline function that is creating a copy of the items being compiled, the macro function is used mostly for text replacement. However, the reason why the inline function is usually used with the macro function is so that the values or items being compiled can be copied in case the macro function creates a bug.

Inline and macro are related to programming languages, which are used in languages like Java. Inline is a function in the programming languages c and C ++. This function is used in classes. Macros are code fragments. They are important because it directs the preprocessor.

Along with that, macro shows how the sequence should work. One of the main differences between the two is related to the preprocessor, because macros are checked by them.

Inlines are checked by the compiler. Macros are a type of preprocessor. They are looked at each time they are carried out, while inlines are only evaluated once.

A macro is a fragment of code and is the preprocessor directive stated at the beginning of the program before the hash sign. It is the rule or pattern that determines how input sequences should be worked out according to the defined procedure. An inline function in the c ++ and c programming languages is one qualified with keyword inline. It is a particular concept that is typically used with classes.

The chief difference between macro and inline function is that macro is checked by the preprocessor, while the compiler examines an inline role. In the program, the preprocessor directives are put into the source program before the main program. One type of preprocessor directive is macro. The function can be converted to an inline function if the purpose is not very complicated. In macro, the argument is evaluated each time, and with inline, it is only assessed one time.
