Foremost, when we are talking about flying, we are actually talking about a substance suspended in the air. Thus, flying is associated with air. This makes the term "flying" to be used with anything aviation or airplane. Flying has to do with the movement of a substance in a particular direction.

When referring to the speed of a flying object, it can be in high or low speed. And in terms of its direction, it is recognized with respect to the four cardinal points -North, east, south, and west. On the other hand, you use floating in relation to water or any other liquid substance.

It can also be used in reference to an object that is in space (where there is no gravity). Several objects that can float include boat, ship, balls, and even human beings, and many more. In addition, floating also deals with movement, but in an irregular pattern.

Flying and floating are two ways that things can travel. Flying is related to aviation and air travel. For example, planes fly from one location to another. Flying can also be a feeling that people have in their dreams, where they seem themselves flying from place to place.

Another example of flying is how birds travel from places, which is them flying in the sky. Floating is traveling on a substance, such as water. This type of transit is used to describe how boats and ships travel from one location to the next. In a swimming pool, a person or objects like a ball could float in the water.

Flying is a term closely related to air travel and aviation. It is often used in describing movement toward something. Many people have dreams about flying because it is something that scares them. Many times in this scenario, the person is flying above trees, houses, or some other object or even people. The mechanics of flying require thrust, lift, and drag, and is true for birds or planes.

Floating, on the other hand, signifies movement; however, it is not specifically toward anything. Floating is often associated with water, as someone can be floating in a swimming pool. Any object that is suspended in water is called "a floating object. This object could be boats or ships on a lake and a beach ball in a swimming pool.
