Nylon and polyester are similar in so many ways, probably because both are thermoplastic polymers. One of the differences between Nylon and Polyester is that the former is a thermoplastic polymer, whereas the latter is both a thermoplastic or thermoset polymer. Although nylon and polyester are both synthetic products, nylon is made artificially from chemicals. On the contrary, polyesters are made from chemicals as well but can still be made from plants. Nylon belongs to the family of polyamides, and that is why it is called polyamides. When you check the chemical structure of polyesters, they are made of esters. In terms of texture, polyesters are rougher than nylon. The condensation of diamine and dicarboxylic acid leads to the formation of nylon. Nylon and polyester can be used to make fabrics. However, the former gives a more natural feel compared to the latter. Fabrics made from nylon are less wrinkle-resistant than their polyester counterparts.

Nylon and polyester are two types of fabrics that are being used right now for different types of clothing. They have some similar properties. For example, they are both wrinkle-free and they are shrink resistant. One difference between the two is that nylon is known to be softer as compared to polyester. Nylon is also a stronger fabric between the two. One advantage that polyester has over nylon is its ability to dry faster. This is also more resistant to abrasion. There are some people who choose these fabrics because of these features. Some people would particularly bring clothing with these types of fabrics with them especially when they do not want to wear wrinkled pieces of clothing.
