There are two primary choices when having pictures printed, and this includes glossy and luster. Glossy is smooth like glass, and it is also delicate, but it maintains maximum saturation. Glossy paper elicits a myriad of detail. The colors pop with glossy paper.

However, with glossy paper, there is more of a chance for it to become dirty. Lustre paper, on the other hand, is a paper with a surface that has small bubbles. Compared to glossy paper, luster does not get grubby quickly; therefore, photographers prefer luster paper to glossy paper. Colors do not appear to be bright and vibrant with luster paper.

The prints on luster print are not adequate unless the pictures must be framed and put behind glass. Luster is not as good of quality as glossy paper. Lustre paper does not shine or appear to be as transparent as glossy paper. The consensus concerning these options is that glossy is the better pick for a quality color photo.

Glossy and Lustre are two different kinds of paper that you can print on. Foremost, the glossy paper is very smooth, just like glass. This material had the highest saturation but can also be quite delicate. Glossy papers provide you with the finest details, and colors look more eminent on it. One of the first discouraging factors about glossy is that it gets dirty easily. So, you have to be extremely careful with the way you handle it. In the case of the luster paper now, its surface texture looks somewhat like small bubbles. And the positive part of it is that it does not get dirty easily like the glossy paper. The colors on luster papers are not that prominent like glossy. And still, most photographers make use of it more than glossy paper. The glossy paper is seen to have a more reflective and glossy surface, while luster paper has a less reflective and glossy surface.

Glossy and lustre are known to be two types of finishes that are available when you print photos. When you say lustre finish, this is a type of finish that is in between glossy and matte. When you say glossy, this is the type of finish that is a bit shinier as compared to others.

Some people say that matte finishes can be a little dull, which is why they would rather choose lustre. One of the reasons why people do not want to go all glossy is because of the glare that the glossy finish may form. Lustre is considered by a lot of people to have the advantages of both matte and glossy finishes. Color saturation may be different between lustre and glossy too.

Glossy is very smooth such as glass. Though glossy has a very high saturation also, it is very delicate. Glossy paper has prominent colors on it, and it comes with the finest details. It has a drawback, such that when you touch it with your dirty finger, the smear shows easily. It accumulates dirt easily.

On the other hand, luster paper comes with a physical texture that tends to have small bubbles on it. Lustre paper does not easily get dirty like glossy paper. When you print on luster paper, the colors do not look prominent on it. Most photographers prefer lustre paper to glossy paper because it does not get easily dirty like the latter one.

The surface of glossy paper is more reflective than that of luster paper. This is simply due to the fact that glossy paper has more gloss than lustre paper. The details printed on glossy paper are sharper than that on lustre paper.
