The geocentric theory gives credence to the geocentric system at which the earth is placed at the center of the solar system and other objects or plants situated around it. The geocentric theory is considered archaic because of the newer heliocentric theory. With this theory, the solar system has the sun as the center of the solar system.

The concept of the heliocentric model existed from around 200-300 BC. The geocentric theory says that the earth is the center of the solar system, while the heliocentric theory says the sun is at the center of the solar system. The geocentric theory states that all heavenly bodies, including the moon, sun, and stars, orbit around the sun. According to the geocentric theory, stars rotate around the earth, while in the heliocentric theory, the earth rotates on its axis, which provides the illusion of the stars moving.

These two terms, geocentric and heliocentric, are commonly known to be used when relating to the solar systems. Geocentric simply means having the earth at the center with respect to the solar system. Hence the geocentric theory, which describes a geocentric system and is being explained as a phenomenon in which the earth is located at the center of the solar systems, which can include the other planets or objects. This is one of the oldest theories that were postulated by the old Greek philosophers, such as Aristotle and Plato. On the other hand, while the previous has the earth at the center, the heliocentric have the sun at the center, and still with respect to the solar system. This model has existed as far back as 200-300 B.C., but it seemed the geocentric theory was prevailing. In the long run, Nicolaus Copernicus, who was an astronomer, gathered the works by the old astronomers, and the heliocentric idea started dominating in the 16th century.

Geocentric and heliocentric are known to be two different models of the universe. When you look into the geocentric model, you will see that the earth is known to be at the center of the universe and the cosmos.

When you check out the heliocentric model, you will see that it is the sun that is considered to be in the middle of everything. The heliocentric model states that the planets revolve around the sun.

There are still some people who make use of these two different models of the universe. Some do it for checking purposes while there are also others who make use of the models in order to prove certain points that they believe in.

Geocentric and heliocentric are two different terms used with reference to the solar system. Geocentric has to do with "having the earth at the center of the solar system," while heliocentric has to do with "having the sun at the center of the solar system. " The postulate of geocentric theory explains that other matters such as the sun, moon, and stars revolve around the earth.

On the contrary, the postulate of heliocentric theory explains that other matters like the earth, moon, and stars revolve around the sun. The geocentric theory proposes that the stars make a continuous rotational motion around the earth, while the heliocentric theory proposes that the earth rotates around its axis and thus makes it look as though the stars are revolving around the earth.

The geocentric theory reveals that the movement path of the heavenly bodies is circular, while heliocentric theory explains that the movement path of the heavenly bodies is elliptical.
