Rice contains carbohydrates, which is one of the things needed in order to boost the amount of serotonin that can be found in the body. For those who do not know, serotonin is one of the hormones known to boost people’s moods. At the same time, this will also have the ability to make the body feel relaxed, which is why people can sometimes feel sleepy after eating huge portions of rice.

It is not only rice that contains carbohydrates, though. You can also find carbs when you eat bread and pasta. Too many carbohydrates can be bad for the body as they will be transformed into sugar. The key here is always to eat the food that your body wants and needs in moderation.
