Some people who suffer from allergies are at risk of a life-threatening reaction called anaphylaxis. With those who have severe allergies, the reaction has an enormous effect on the entire body. The histamine produced by the reaction can cause your blood vessels to dilate and your blood pressure to decrease. You might not be able to breathe normally, as your throat may become swollen.
Along with hives, itching, trouble breathing, wheezing, and an irregular pulse, you might also be nauseous, dizzy, or you could feel faint. This reaction could terminate your breathing or heartbeat; it could end your life within minutes. A plethora of different allergens can trigger anaphylaxis, and the most common ones include food, latex, insect stings, and medications.
