Dolittle is an American fantasy comedy film that was directed by Stephen Gaghan. Robert Downey Jr., as Dr. John Dolittle was a veterinarian who has the ability to communicate with animals and his apprentice. After his wife died in the sea, he decided not to come in contact with any human but only animals. Queen Victoria (Jessie Buckley) sends a girl named lady rose (Carmel Laniado) with a message to Dolittle to come and try to cure the deadly queen sickness.
Dolittle was persuaded by Polynesia to try to reconnect with people again. Upon reaching, Dolittle figured out that the queen was poisoned by a type of nightshade that was added to her tea. For the Queen to be cured, she must eat fruit from a faraway land. They continue to the island where the lily was born. While attempting to capture the lily journal which contains details of the way to the fruit, Dolittle is captured by his former father-in-law.
