A podcast is a digital audio file that can be downloaded by users from the internet. It includes a series of spoken words. This new way of spreading messages and reaching out to the public is used by different people for different purposes.
Podcast provides a convenient way of using satellite radios, commercial radios, and books. However, we know the movie industry is widely known as a visual or motion industry where messages are passed along using visuals. The movie industry and podcast play different and important roles in society, and I believe the podcast cannot overcome the movie industry. As much as people love to listen, so they love to see a visual image of what they are listening too. Most importantly, this depends on the choice and wants of the audience as we have different people with different interests.
It all depends on the audience and for what they are exploring. For years, films have been competing with a diverse range of entertainment. Podcasts are a more adaptable medium for things such as satellite radio, books, and commercial radio. Podcasts are an excellent tool for getting a substantial focus on what the audience wants to hear. It is often geared toward particular niche audiences who are looking for a specific type of entertainment.
However, films will become more prominent with their target audience for less money as software becomes more accessible and ambitious. We don't understand until we see how the integration of films impacts us as an audience. Also, technology is moving forward in society, as are the different forms of entertainment, which are encouraged to move along with it.
