Kidney stones are extremely painful. They can cause issues with urinating, as well as make blood pass through urine. Thankfully, there are ways to prevent kidney stones from occurring. One way is to stay hydrated. Drinking a lot of water helps the prevention of kidney stores from occurring.

Another way is to eat a high amount of foods that are rich in calcium. The most popular kidney stone is the calcium oxalate stone. Though it has calcium in the name, it does not mean a person does not need calcium. Instead, it is necessary for a person to have calcium to prevent this stone from occurring.

My answer will be focusing on two major ways of preventing kidney stones.

My answer will be focusing on two major ways of preventing kidney stones.

1. Staying hydrated:
1. Staying hydrated: High intake of water is well-proven as the best way to prevent kidney stones. If your intake of water is low or simply not enough, the urine output too will be low. The low output of urine means your urine is actually concentrated, and the likelihood of dissolving salts that cause kidney stones would be less.

2. High intake of foods rich in calcium: The kidney stone type that is most common is calcium oxalate stone, which leads a lot of people to the erroneous belief that they should not be eating calcium. However, in the actual sense, what is correct is the opposite of this belief. Low intake of calcium-rich foods or diet involving low calcium content may increase the risk of having a kidney stone. Other ways to prevent kidney stones may include: less intake of sodium, less intake of animal protein, reduction in the intake of food rich in oxalate.

Since kidney stones have no single definite cause, there is no one way to prevent kidney stones. There are many factors that increase a person’s risk of having kidney stones. The best way to prevent kidney factors is to work on these risk factors. Here are some modifiable factors that can help prevent kidney stones. Hydration – Drinking enough daily water decreases your risk of kidney stones. It is important you drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Calcium – Too little calcium causes oxalate levels to rise, which further causes a type of kidney stone. To prevent this type of kidney stone, make sure you are getting enough calcium as required.

Since kidney stones have no single definite cause, there is no one way to prevent kidney stones.
You can do this by consuming more calcium-rich food. Sodium – high levels of sodium can cause kidney stones. Excess sodium can prevent calcium absorption. Cut down on salt consumption and other foods rich in sodium. Avoiding excess vitamin C supplements, consuming less oxalate-rich foods, and limiting animal protein consumption can help prevent kidney stones.
