As a result of this, countries like Iran, Belarus, Syria, most times seek protection from Russia. Another thing that makes Russia a powerful country is that its economy is one of the best in Europe. The country is blessed with a lot of natural resources. The country has so much oil reserves. Finally, Russia also has a very strong political system to point out that they can subtly interfere with the political events of other countries.
