Miss Universe presents 90 contestants eligible for the pageant show, with three top contestants selected. Starting from the second runner-up, her name is Sofia Aragon from Mexico. The first runner-up is Madison Anderson from Puerto Rico, while the top contestant is Zozibini Tunzi from South Africa. Sofia Aragon is the winner of the Mexicana Universal for the year 2019, which actually gives her the edge to contest for Miss Universe. Sofia, who was born on 13 February 1994, is a model and author, and she has published two books on women empowerment. Madison Anderson, who was born on 10 November 1995, as well won the Miss Universe Puerto Rico, which earns her an opportunity to be part of the miss universe contestants.

The Miss Universe competition 2019, which was the 68th Miss Universe pageant, was on the 8th of December, 2019. The event took place LIVE at the Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Towards the end of the show, Steve Harvey, who has hosted the show for the past five consecutive years, announced Miss Mexico, Miss South Africa, and Miss Puerto Rico as the Top 3 contestants of Miss Universe 2019.
