Which animals live in herds?

There are some animals that are known to live in herds because they know that they can live better that way. Some examples of animals that live in groups are the American Bison, Sheep, Water Buffalo, Zebra, and so much more. They usually travel together so that it will be easier for them to outdo different predators. Animals in herds will also find it easier to find the right place to stay wherein they can find the food that they need to survive. Take note that in herds, there are still some animals that act as leaders. For example, wolves also live in herds.

Whenever they travel, those that are strongest would remain near the front and the back portion of the herd to offer protection to predators. The weakest ones will also be near the front as they would determine how fast or how slow the whole herd will travel.

The herd is a term that describes animals that live together in groups or domestic animals that are kept in together under the watch of a keeper. Examples of animals that live in groups are Elephants, Zebras, Buffaloes, Deer, Cows, Horses, and Sheep. A herd can also be defined as a social group of animals of the same species.

A herd of animal can also be a group of wild or domestic animals. This term is also often used for mammals. Most of the animals grouped as herd animals are grazing ungulates animals. The herd is often unstructured, and their size varies. There usually have a “control animal” that other animals in the group imitate.
