The insectivores are known to be those that would have toxic saliva. They have this type of saliva because their salivary glands are somewhat different from other animals. They have larger granular submaxillary glands, and this is where the toxic saliva comes from. The platypus is an example of an animal that has toxic saliva.
Humans who have experienced the pain from the venom say that the pain is excruciating, but it also cannot be removed by morphine. The shrew also has toxic saliva, which it normally uses in order to immobilize some small animals. The cone snail is also another example of an animal that has toxic saliva. It would also use the toxic saliva to stop its prey from moving.

Animals that have poison in their saliva are known as venomous animals. These animals use their venom to kill their prey.
Some of the most popular venomous animals are:
Belcher's Sea Snake – This snake is very dangerous, its venom can kill a human in less than 30 minutes if bitten.
Box jellyfish – This animal is a very harmful animal that every swimmer muse avoid. When this animal stings a human, it is often very painful. The venom of the box jellyfish can stop the heart from beating; it can also stop breathing.
Boomslang – This snake doesn't attack humans in most situations, but when it does, it can be lethal. The venom of this snail has anti-coagulant properties. This prevents blood from clotting, which can slowly lead to death.
Carpet viper – This species of a viper is known to be the most deadly in the world. Its venom can lead to loss of organs if not treated.
Here are more examples of venomous animals: Blue-ringed octopus, Redback Spider, Vampire bats, Slow Loris, Deathstalker scorpion, and Inland taipan.
