There are some people who are switching to a plant-based diet because of their own personal reasons. Some have resorted to not eating meat anymore because they feel that this is unnecessary. Some are raised that way. They are bound to eat more plants as compared to animals. Some would like to have a plant-based diet in order to improve their health.
Yet, there are some dangers that are connected to having a plant-based diet. Some are unable to get enough protein from their diet, which can affect the rate that their bodies are able to regenerate cells. Some also become afflicted with antinutrients that are usually found in the seeds of the plant. These can cause asthma, joint pain, and headaches.
Although the plant-based diet is known to reduce the risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, and other medical conditions, there are also health dangers associated with a plant-based diet. Research shows that people that practice plant-based diets (vegetarians) have a 20% higher rate of stroke than people that consume animal products. Focusing on only a plant-based diet can lead to hair loss. The lack of sufficient protein, iron, zinc, and vitamin B can lead to hair loss. Meat (animal product) is rich in these essential nutrients. Older adults also have to watch closes for their iron levels. Although iron is found in some plants, it is harder to absorb; this can cause more severe effects for them.
