Plant-based diets are rich in minimally processed and often organic foods. Besides being plentiful with whole grains and vegetables, you should incorporate an array of plant-based proteins, such as nuts, beans, and seeds in your diet. Some good ideas include an apple with organic peanut butter and garbanzo beans in a salad. You should limit or completely exclude animal products.

The majority of foods you should be rotating within this diet are vegetables, fruits, seeds, nuts, whole-grain bread and pasta, and legumes. Basically, the plant-based diet promotes food that is as close to its natural state as possible.

A plant-based diet involves limiting your meals to mostly foods gotten from a plant such as whole grains, nuts, legumes, fruits, and vegetables. This can include limited animal-based products such as eggs, dairy products, and fish. While a vegan diet is a diet that consists of only plant foods. It does not contain any food gotten from animals; even eggs, fish, and dairy products are not allowed. The major difference is that a plant-based diet allows you to consume a small number of animal products from time to time. If you are hoping to choose between a plant-based diet and a vegan diet, the option is left to you as both eating plans have pros and cons. This does not mean people with a plant-based eating plan will never eat animal products, but people on a vegan diet totally avoid consuming anything that has its source from animal products.
