Poaching is the illegal capturing of animals. Some of the most poached animals in the world include pangolins, elephants, rhinoceroses, and tigers are all being poached at an alarming rate. The pangolin comes from their distant ancestors, the dinosaurs. One hundred thousand pangolins are poached every year, and it is believed that their scales hold the key to many cures for diseases; however, none of that has been scientifically proven.
Ivory is the greatest threat to the elephant population. Ivory is more valuable than gold, silver cocaine, and oil. Between the years 2007 and 2015, there has been a ninety percent rise in rhino killings. Much like elephants, they are poached for one single reason: their horns. Tigers are also hunted so that idiot poachers can brag about snagging their pelt.
