The empty spaces that are being referred to right here are the spaces that are in between the particles that make up the different building blocks of the items that we have right now. Yet, empty spaces can also mean something completely different. They may be spaces in people’s hearts and minds that have been vacated because the person that used to take up that space has already long gone. Some people feel that when they lose someone important in their life, there is this hole that they cannot fill up no matter how hard they try. The empty space stays empty until such time when it would heal, or it would finally be filled up by other particles.

Some are not even sure that empty spaces truly existed until the time came when there are more tools and machines that can be used to analyze things. Empty spaces are known to be the space in between various particles. There are some particles that are extremely small, but they make up the bigger particles that we can see with our naked eye.

In the past, people thought that protons, neutrons, and electrons are the smallest particles, but actually, these are made up of even smaller particles that are called quarks. Spaces can be big or small, but we do not know for sure what space is truly made of.

Everything around us is fashioned of atoms, minuscule particles comprised of a nucleus orbited by electrons. These small particles are filled with energy, but they possess quite a lot of space. Most of all, the matter around us is space. If you took the vacant space out of each person on earth, you could reduce the entire human population down to an object smaller than a sugar cube. When atoms expand to become one million times, their size is about the size of a melon.

The nucleus of the atom would be in the middle of the melon, and the electrons would orbit the skin. The orbiting electrons must resist being pushed out of their orbits.his is why the space inside the atoms can't be packed with other atoms. Electrons don’t have volume, but they have a wave function whose energy inhabits the space. The wave function doesn't just occupy one point, and it's everywhere in the space at the same time.

An empty space is known to be a space in between the articles that do not have anything. There was a time when people assumed that the smallest particles are the protons, neutrons, and electrons. As they probed further, they realized that there are much smaller particles that are available called quarks.

As of now, people are still trying to learn more about these smaller particles so that they can see if the quarks are made out of even smaller particles. Quarks are known to be a bit spherical. If the new machines that will be created will be able to see smaller particles in the future, people may be able to know if there are actually things that make up empty spaces.
