What makes a lot of people interested in space is the different discoveries that may become available when people explore it. The Apollo Landing is still considered to be the biggest discovery because it provided much-needed insight about the earth’s one and only moon. People have assumed before that that space will just offer what people can see.
Since Apollo, there were still other discoveries that made space even more fascinating. For example, there is available proof right now that black holes do exist. It is also more obvious now that the sun is not the only star in space. There are a lot of other stars that may even be considered to be bigger than the sun.
The Hubble Space Telescope has discovered what appears to be plumes of water erupting from the surface of Jupiter's moon, Europa. This icy moon may harbor a liquid water ocean deep below its surface. Scientists believe that the beach might have the capacity for life. If Europa is gushing water from its ocean into space, that opens up the door for an orbiting mission to take samples of the water and look for evidence of biology there.
Also, in 2016, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory Collaboration made history. It uncovered the first direct detection of gravitational waves, ripples that stretch and compress space itself. The direct detection of gravitational waves involves unique territory for astronomy because these waves carry information about the objects and events which create them, and this information cannot be attained any other way.
There are so many discoveries that have been made in space, and it is not surprising that a lot of people are curious about what people have discovered. One of their discoveries is the black holes that can be found in some areas in space. There are galactic black holes that are available that are being sustained by dust and gas.
In the year 2010, there is also a new remote planet that has been discovered. This is about 13,000 light-years from earth. One of the biggest discoveries ever is called the TRAPPIST 1 System. This comes with seven planets that are similar to the earth. Scientists are still trying to figure out the overall composition of the planets to know more about this in general.
